Default Skill Trainers

Ok so when Factions went out Anet decided that instead of giving out skills in quests they would make you buy them. They said it was to create more diversity in builds. Thats all great but....they still dont let you pick whatever skills you want. You are limited to a few skills from the beginning and they add a couple more here and there as you advance through the game. Factions gave you all or nearly all as soon as you hit the mainland. In Nightfall they seem to split it up more. Doing this in my opinion is almost as bad as giving out skills in quests. It limits the diversity in builds. So my suggestion is:

Make ALL (non elite of course) skills available from the start of the game at the skill trainers.

Ahem... the whole point is PvE is to advance to get to the stuff.

You have a trainer that teahes all non elite in each campaing, you'll have to reach there with at leas one character to unlock all skills in one trainer.

I did so with a character, non I have all the skills ulucked for all my other characters.

You are missing the entire point. Anet said they wanted to create more diversity in builds so they made skill trainers....BUT that doesnt work when they only give you a few skills to pick from! If they are not going to give us all skills from the trainers then they should just go back to giving skills in quests.

Anet also wants you to play the game that they spent enless hours working on. Diversity isn't at the very top of their goals.

Anet is making me choose between playing PVP to unlock skills for early trainers, or playing through half the game with a gimped build! I reluctantly choose the PVP route, but I don't like it.

Bring back the Factions system!

Uhhhhhhhh...Diversity is EXACTLY the reason why they "claim" to have changed the way skills are acquired so you are wrong.

A.net has also contradicted their own philosophy in a few instances and left several promises unfulfilled, some for a year or longer.

With the exception of factions, I think there's enough skill diversity after the newbie areas. If all non-elite skills were availible at the start, they'd have to trash all the skill trainers, old skill-reward quests, the hero skills npcs, adjust the cap sig method, and do something with the profession intro npcs in the newbie areas.

And why would they have to do all that?

For example for my paragon I wanted to get "Stand Your Ground" but its not available until you get to the gates of torment. Why should i have to wait so long to get those skills?

isnt 1k too much?
like i said at the other post, you would have to come up with 100k to unlock all skills for at least 2 professions

Simple. Get 1000 Balthazar Faction, unlock the skill, buy it from ANY skill trainer.

There is another way to get skills without PvP or waiting till the endgame skill trainer. Signet of Capture. "Stand your ground" is available in Kourna for capture. Get it for the same price, only much sooner.

And one more option for a total of three:

If any other character got there before the one you want the skill in, unlock it with that othe one and buy it in other trainers once onlucked. You'll pay 2k instead of 1k but, hey, you'll never know when you'll need the skill in the other character.
